Player Profile

Yale University graduate Peter turns 50 in April 2006 and will become eligible for the Seniors Tour courtesy of his position on the All Time Career Money List. Originally headed for Europe in 1982 after failing to win a US Tour card.

He twice finished second in 1984 - the first occasion in Biarritz after he and Mike Clayton had set what was then a 54-hole Tour record of 193 - but it was in Asia that his first two successes came. Winning the Singapore PGA Championship in 1989 and 1991 were special to him because his wife, Veronica, was born in the country.

A knee injury meant two operations and a lengthy lay-off in 1993 - he was granted a Membership extension - then he suffered from tendinitis in a shoulder in 1994. In 1995, troubled by shin problems, he missed cuts in 21 starts then won the Chemapol Trophy Czech Open and a cheque for £125,000.

It was a reminder to everyone that however bleak things may seem, they can be all the brighter one week later with four good rounds of golf. Peter made his Asian Seniors Tour debut in the 2006 ASM @ Phuket.
