Somsak turned professional in 1967.
Somsak has won many events including the 1987 Maruman Golf Classic in Indonesia, 1988 Singapore PGA Championship at Jurong Country Club.
Somsak has also represented Thailand in the Dunhill World Team championships and is currently ranked in the top 5 Thailand Seniors.
Somsak played in the 2003 Asian Senior Masters in Singapore and the 2005 & 2006 Asian Senior Masters Malaysia.
